My daughter received speech therapy with Ellen Jackson and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We had sessions at home and at daycare, allowing Ellen to work with my daughter in different settings. At home, we were provided strategies that we could continue to work on outside of our sessions. My daughter made tremendous progress over the 1.5 years that we received therapy and we are so thankful for everything that Ellen has done. Ellen helped my daughter find her voice!
Ellen was amazing to have around. Her knowledge was extensive not only in speech, but in so many other developmental areas. She spent extra time, she was flexible, extremely supportive, listened to all my concerns and genuinely cared for my son and what I wanted as his mom for him. I highly recommend Adler therapy and ask for Ellen for speech. She is a lovely person and I learned so much from her. Whenever I was feeling I was coming up short as a mom, she reassured me I'm doing my best and so is my son. She was so very helpful and we are sad to see her go now that he's 3.
Ellen Jackson was the assigned speech therapist for my daughter and we couldn’t have wished for a better experience. She was so patient, compassionate and kind. She actively listened to concerns and gave me tools to work through the issues my daughter was having. She tailored every session or recommendation to activities my daughter already loved which really made it easy to incorporate everything into our day/routines.She also took the time and included my son if he was home during our sessions, which made him feel very important and excited to help his sister! Overall I am so thankful for Ellen and don’t think my daughter would have progressed so much without her help!
Mrs Ellen Jackson was my son’s speech therapist, Mrs Lauren Hankins was his occupational therapist, and Mrs Heather was his physical therapist. My son’s speech and development has soared since working with them. All 3 therapists were an absolute joy to work with and provided me with all the tools I need to continue building on what we learned in therapy. You can tell they’re extremely knowledgeable in their fields and truly enjoy working with kids. I’d recommend them to anyone I know!!
We had great service from Ellen Jackson for our son speech therapy. She’s helps us with good advice, and professional services. Thank you so much.
Ellen Jackson, did and amazing job with my son, I didn’t really know he had autism until he was referred to speech therapy with her, since the beginning she was patient and listened to all I had to say, very respectful, also provided me so many tools and coach me to understand my son and comprehend his needs. My son really liked her and he is particularly selective with ppl.Unfortunately I had to move, I really hope I can find someone like her in the near future..
When I first came in I had pain in both hips and knees. With Stacy and Steve’s help I’m pain free today with lots of new exercises that will definitely improve my quality of life.
When I came to Adler, the pain levels in my shoulder and neck were at an 8 or 9. I was popping muscle relaxers and Tylenol like candy, and I wasn’t sleeping. Over the course of four months, my pain has been reduced to a zero. My physical therapist was amazing!! She didn’t just did take me through a series of exercises and stretches, she explained how these activities worked and how they contributed to the goal of zero pain. My quality of life has improved greatly, I know more about my body, and I feel like I have been empowered to keep myself healthy, and pain free. Thank you, Adler Physical Therapy, and thank you, Gabrielle!
I was being seen for occupational therapy. The team that worked with me was amazing. Kristien Edmonds, *Ravin Payne*, Michal Kittrell, & Isabella Wessell were all top notch occupational therapist. They all made you feel welcomed and created an positive atmosphere. Always trying to keep a positive attitude even when I didn't want to do certain activities...they all pushed me to keep going and were happy when i hit scheduled milestones. If you need occupational therapy, the VB Newtown office team is where you need to be.
I came to Adler Therapy Group for therapy to assist with the symptoms associated with Vertigo. I initially questioned the need for physical therapy to help me. Boy, was I wrong. My therapist, Laura Scurria, PT, DPTwas the answer and the cure. Laura, totally changed my thinking about the value of therapy to cure my Vertigo. I am so grateful for Adler Therapy Group. I am back to my normal life because of the care I received.Thank you, Laura.
It's obvious when you walk through the door at ATG that the priority of everyone there is the health and well-being of their patients. Prior to my treatments with Laura and Nick, I had spent the last 8 years with daily back pain. Their knowledge, attention to detail, and clear communication gave me the confidence to to fully commit to their treatment plans knowing that it was possible to live without pain. The relief I experienced from being pain free after one month of bi-weekly sessions can only be described as liberating, I wish I hadn't waited so long to get help.
Ellen Jackson was my son’s speech therapist for a little over a year. She is an exceptional speech therapist who has made a remarkable difference in my son’s communication skills. Her patience, positive approach, and engaging activities created a comfortable environment where my son thrived, leading to significant progress in his speech clarity and fluency. Ellen facilitated sessions with my son both at daycare and at home. I greatly appreciated her flexibility and the detailed reports she provided after a session at daycare. Ellen is also very thoughtful and went above and beyond what you would expect of a speech therapist. For example, Ellen noticed my son really enjoyed a particular snack at his daycare…She asked the daycare cook how to make it and sent me pictures and the recipe. She did this all on her own initiative. I am so grateful for her dedication, expertise and care she showed my child. I highly recommend Ellen at Adler Therapy Group.
This was my first time doing physical therapy, or really any kind of referred therapy, and I had a great experience at ATG. I began the end of October and was discharged today🎉 Gabrielle M. was my therapist and she was super knowledgeable and helpful from the beginning. The atmosphere at the clinic I was in (C) was always upbeat and welcoming, and all the other therapists were as great as Gabrielle. The other clients seemed motivated to be there. While the goal is to never be back haha, if anything were to happen I would totally be back to receive further therapy from this clinic. Thank you guys!!
We adore Mrs. Devon. She is awesome with my daughter. We look forward to our weekly visit each week. So happy to have found Adler Therapy Group.
We’ve had positive experiences with Adler for in-patient occupational therapy and out-patient speech therapy. Our speech therapist Ellen made enormous progress with our 2 year-old who was behind in speech. We also had good experiences dealing with office and billing folks.
I have to brag about 2 wonderful ladies that work at the Virginia Beach location! Mrs. Mia in OT and Mrs. Sarah W. in speech. My oldest son sees Mia and my youngest son sees Sarah. Both of them are amazing with my boys. We really feel as if they have become apart of our family. Especially for my youngest who has come so far with his speech that he now names everything Sarah lol. Both of my boys love going weekly and are sad if they have to skip a week. I highly highly recommend Adler Therapy Group!!!!
Best therapist Laura and Nick. I appreciate all your help and support. Great atmosphere .
We started coming to Adler 3 months ago for my baby’s torticollis. Fraline is absolutely AMAZING! She was so professional but still warm and encouraging and was so helpful every week giving me practical things I could do at home each week to support what she was doing in the office. My son’s head was misshaped and the right side of his face was asymmetrical and now he has a beautiful round head and the most perfect face! She’s helped him surpass all of his milestones early and I loved spending the hour with her. Would highly recommend her and Adler to all of my mom friends!!!
Niki is great! She has a thorough understanding of vestibular therapy and she was instrumental in helping me overcome the effects of my vertigo. I highly recommend her for vestibular therapy. She works out of the Newtown office.
I have only great things to say about my son's Physical Therapist, Fraline! She was patient, kind, and always pushed him to do his very best! My son looked forward to each session and loved all of the fun activities Fraline had planned for him. Mr. Curtis would also help out playing the games and encourage my son. My son LOVED "hanging out" with both of them, especially playing Uno No Mercy.
My son karter sees Tara and Zoe these two women are amazing. They have really made me and my son feel like family going above and beyond for us always there always supportive building a relationship with my son beyond anything that I expected. I couldn’t be more happy with these two women. In the owner, Josh is amazing with his busy life. He still makes time for his patience to speak with us about any concerns. I could not be more excited to go on this journey with these amazing people.
The staff at the Virginia Beach location were amazing. From the check-in staff to the therapists, I always felt welcomed. And many kudos to my PTs Gabrielle Motsko, Sam Stainback and Nick Bulleit. As my primary PT Gabrielle ensured my care program was seamless and I made excellent progress under her care.
My son saw Ms. Emily for speech for a couple years and he made huge improvements with her help. She was always very knowledgeable and understanding when ever concerns were brought up about his progress and made sure he was being challenged every step of the way to ensure he got the most out of his sessions. Couldn't ask for a better speech therapist
Niki and Madison are great I love to see them on Mondays and I love the way they interact with the patients LOVE IT!!!
I don’t have any complain with my child’s therapists, they have been doing an excellent job but I am always having the worst experience with the receptionists at bldg A! At least give a little respect to the person in front of you rather than giving all your attention on the phone! You are always causing us to be late on our appointments because all you do is talk on the phone! At least have a person to assist the patients coming in rather than just focusing on phone calls! Worst receptionists!
Before my son came to see Hannah, he wasn't saying any words, just mumbles. After 3 months, my 2 year old can now say a handful of words, animal noises, and identify things! He's come such a long way! Thank you Hannah and Adler Therapy Group!
It’s refreshing to work with people who care for your child as if they were their own! Our therapist Kelsey was an absolute joy and our son enjoyed his time with her.
This day will be my daughter’s last day of speech therapy. I am so thankful for the help and support of Amanda Johnson. She is so attentive and understanding. My daughter liked her so much. Thank you adler and Amanda!
After having a stroke, I worked with Ashyton on speech therapy. Ashyton will wonderful - kind, patient and encouraging. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to someone looking for speech therapy. She is amazing.
I have been assisting a gentleman who had a stroke a little over a year ago. He has been receiving speech, occupational and physical therapy at Adler Therapy at the Virginia Beach Blvd. office for the past 9 months. I help him with his therapy exercises at home and have taken him to Adler many times. I have to say, I have not seen a kinder, more compassionate group of people in any health profession. All of the people that I've come across, from the front desk to each therapist and assistant have gone far above and beyond to help my friend in his recovery. They are encouraging, respectful and knowledgeable and all of them seem to have a great sense of humor. Most importantly, they truly care about the patients. I highly recommend Adler Therapy to anyone who needs therapy.
We’ve had an amazing experience with Kendra Miller! She is incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable. She takes the time to truly understand her clients’ needs and works at a pace that is comfortable yet effective. My child always felt supported and encouraged during sessions, which has helped build her confidence in communication. The progress we’ve seen is remarkable, and it’s clear how much care and dedication Kendra brings to every session. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate and skilled SLP!
I have never had such a glorious experience since I met Laura Scurria, I just love her patience, and concern for me. She's A REAL QUEEN, A BEAUTIFUL SPIRIT.
I was a patient of Adler Therapy Group (at their Chesapeake location) from late May through mid-August 2024, after a scary experience on some concrete stairs and resultant lingering pain and weakness. A prior doctor's visit and xrays showed no sign of serious arthritis or breaks, but the pain persisted in my hip and in my knees. As Adler is across the hall from my doctor, and after encouragement by a friend who is a speech pathologist in Adler's Newport News office, I made an appointment (first PT ever) not knowing what to expect. My initial consult was with Steve Sargol who listened carefully to what I'd been experiencing and took his time in measuring and observing the problem, and developing a plan with specific exercises to not only relieve the pain, but also to strengthen the affected joints and areas.I began the journey in late May using a cane as a walking aid. I hurt constantly (especially the hip) and stairs were a nightmare for me. When I finished in August, the cane was long gone and I was able to go on long walks again and maneuver stairs so much better. And the exercises I was provided are now a part of my daily routine. As Steve says, "Motion is lotion!".The atmosphere created by everyone at Adler Chesapeake is one of support, encouragement, a serious desire to promote strength and healing, and -- fun. Even though PT was hard, they made it fun. To Steve and everyone else (Staci, Sam, Maya!!!) I am forever grateful for your patience with me and your determination to make this rehab successful. I cannot thank each of them enough!!!
I think it's fair to say that no one looks forward to going through physical therapy and I'm certainly no different. I have degenerative arthritis of the spine and had lost considerable flexibility of my neck - up and down, side to side and rotation. I also developed a shoulder problem that I was certain was going to require surgery to correct. My PCP referred me to Adler Therapy Group in Chesapeake. Dr. Maya did a good evaluation and created an appropriate and effective treatment regimen. Twice a week Sam, Staci and sometimes Steve would guide me through all the different exercises. I've had PT before but never had the personal attention that I received from Maya, Steve, Sam and Staci. Bottom line: my shoulder issues have disappeared and my range of rotation in my neck has improved almost 100%. I can even drink beer out of a can now and I couldn't before. I give my highest recommendation to Adler Therapy Group in Chesapeake for anyone needing physical therapy.
My daughter goes to Adler in Virginia Beach for OT. We love this place. Everyone there is so kind and patient. Our OT Zoey is the best! My daughter looks forward to seeing her each week. Her advice and suggestions have helped us greatly.
Rachel Weir is my son's speech therapist. She is doing a great job and is helping us address our son's speech delay.
Christina and Michel are the best! I love going to see them. In fact, I love everyone there! You can tell that they all love their jobs and enjoy their work environment. The ladies at the front are always so happy and friendly! Adler Therapy is the best!
I have worked for Adler Therapy Group for over a year (ST) and see a long future with them. They are easy to talk to and work with. They have been very accommodating and are always cheering others on! This is the best workplace I have experienced, and I have worked many places! Thank you Adler Therapy Group for giving me the best job! 🙂
Outstanding service and wonderful staff! I have been to others physical therapy groups but found Adler’s team to be very knowledgeable and friendly- highly recommend them -
At the Va Beach Blvd location; The staff and patients are very kind. I enjoy the expertise given by physical therapist A. Nick and Sam.They are giving their best methods to my healing journey and thank you for your understandingFollow up: became seriously ill thought management would understand a lot of miscommunication and mind games and threats to give policy fees. My whereabouts through management never was given proper apology nor was my health taken in consideration moved to new facility. Horrible timing and horrible lack remorse I will say. Life is life and live it to your best strengths don't ever apologize for being unwell🙏🏾. Thanks, Nick and Sam once again stay awesome great communication and always gave great customer services
This place is the best. I’ve had multiple interactions with their employees and every experience has been no less than extraordinary. They’re the Chic Fil A of speech therapy.
This was my first experience having physical therapy and I couldn’t have asked for a better place. I worked with Madison, who was my main therapist, along with her assistants Nick and Sam.Everyone I encountered from the front desk receptionists to the physical therapists were all personable, making it feel like a family friendly environment. I also observed how the other therapists interacted with their patients, and you can tell the patients really appreciated them.I was being seen for my IT band issues. They made sure that I was comfortable with the various exercises and stretches, but at the same time they also wanted to challenge me enough so I could get stronger in the areas that needed it.If I ever needed physical therapy services again, I would seek their help first.
This is a fantastic place for healing, laughter, and fun friendships.I will be honest, however, they definitely make you work for it !!!!
From the Virginia Beach location, this was probably one of the best places to do my physical therapy. I was more than lucky to have Nick and Gabrielle and it has been the best with them. They have made it enjoyable and yet efficient to get where I needed to go to achieve my best for my knee. Nick enjoys his patients and pays careful attention to what they need. He is a great person for both tending your needs and helping you become the best. He also has a little humor going for him to keep you smiling throughout your whole visit. It was the best being a patient of his. When you get the time, ask him about calf raises. Gabrielle was someone I could easily click with and feel open with. She is someone who you can easily build trust to. She gives you the proper care that you need to keep doing your exercises. She takes the time to check in on you and make sure that you are on track with what you're supposed to do. Like Nick, she brings a sense of humor that makes your appointments 10x enjoyable. There was never a dull time with Gabrielle, which is what I enjoyed and looked forward to each visit. Overall, they both are the best I have worked with. Aside from their professionalism and communication, they know how to connect with you on a deeper level and bring the best in you, both in the physical and emotional component. Saying I had a great time here would be an understatement, and if I could, I would do it all over again with Nick and Gabrielle.Aside from my amazing physical therapists, the staff I interacted with made my appointment the best as well. Everyone there is absolutely amazing and I will miss hearing from all of them. Sam always came in with providing the best jokes that would leave me to wonder each time. It was fun trying to guess which ones he would pick. But every one would put a smile on my face. Niki also was one person who would make my visits enjoyable. She would always bring in laughter and fun whenever I could see her. She was the best. And Jenna would always greet me and tend to my needs. It was always the best saying hello and goodbye to her every visit. She is the best. Though I never had them, they made my stay at Adler Therapy the best.Nick and Gabrielle always knew what was best for me. They made sure to pick out what was best for me to do to get better. Aside from that, they are the best people and you would be lucky if they could be your physical therapists.
I severely sprained my wrist during a yoga retreat in Bali in April 2024. It was so bad I couldn't even squeeze a tube of toothpaste with my right wrist! My doctor made a referral to both the hand surgeon at Portsmouth Naval Hospital and also for occupational therapy. I was a little hesitant to start the occupational therapy before the hand surgeon diagnosed it, but figured I would give it a try. Am I glad I did! My hand was evaluated by Brooke Coley for both the wrist pain and the numbness in my thumb. She did numerous tests to get a baseline. She then came up with a plan to rehabilitate it over nine follow-on sessions. Both Brooke and two other OT personnel (Raven & Michelle) used ultrasound technology and cupping techniques to help heal the tissue and reduce inflammation. They also gave me numerous exercises to rehabilitate both my wrist and my thumb, some of which I could do at home. I'm happy to say after ten sessions with Adler Therapy Group, my wrist is almost back to normal. I can do side planks again on the affected wrist in yoga with minimal pain! I strongly recommend this group of professionals for your occupational therapy needs!
Kristen and Michal have vastly improved my quality of life. I started seeing Kristen for pain management, and she helped me learn how to manage and alleviate my muscle and joint pain. I came back to her for a damaged elbow tendon, and she and Michal helped me learn to manage that injury and alleviate the pain and swelling. I'm so grateful to have found them to work with.
We always feel welcomed in this facility (Suffolk). The receptionist Ms. Tara is so sweet and always has a big smile. We're so thankful for our therapist Ms. Brooke, she is kind and fun, my son is so comfortable with her and we notice a big improvement in his speech and also he teaches the whole family all of the strategies he learned.
Adler therapy has been amazing to my family! Katie at the front desk is amazing and always has a positive attitude! Hillary, Nikki, And Monique have been so amazing with working with my children’s needs and helping them develop!
I have spent 2 days a week for the past several months visiting Niki and Sam and have enjoyed every visit. They listen to you when you say you need to work on certain tasks and they think “outside the box” to come up with exercises that meet your needs. The whole team is just that … a TEAM. From the minute you walk in the door you feel welcomed. The front desk is extremely pleasant and professional, the group in the therapy room are all pleasant and each interact with the client on a personal level - it is not just all business. Although one never plans on needing physical therapy, I can definitely say if I do again, I will be returning to Adler Therapy Group on Va Beach Blvd. I am glad I am done needing to go … but I am gonna miss going.
Kristyn Peters is my physical therapist she is amazing ! I’m glad she is able to help me!Very friendly staff and very knowledgeable!
We cannot speak highly enough of Adler therapy group, specifically Kristyn Peters. My sister has complex medical issues and has made more progress doing OT with Kristyn than she has with any other treatment. Kristyn has gone above and beyond to offer the best treatment for Emily and we cannot recommend her enough.
Niki and Sam at the New Town office were the best physical therapists I’ve ever had. I came in because I thought my knees were bad but they quickly identified my issues were in the strength and stability of my hips. They worked steadily with me, encouraging me and challenging me to push myself each time I was here and when I went home. With their help, the weakness, swelling and even the clicking noises in my knees disappeared. Even the people at my work noticed the confidence in my stride these days. Thank you, Adler Therapy Group. You guys do amazing work!!!!
Kristyn, with Adler Therapy Hampton provided outstanding service. Very knowledgeable and very accommodating with scheduling. Felt very comfortable being there during sessions which made therapy easy to manage. I highly recommend.
I had the best experience here at Adler Therapy. Savannah my OT has been amazing! She was a great listener when I told her about the problems with my arm and she found several ways to help me get better and taught me how to manage my pain very well. I was sad to leave Adler therapy, but happy that I am much better now. If you have the choice definitely choose here! And try to get Savannah if you can she is the best!!
My experience with Adler Therapy Group was nothing short of amazing. The staff is friendly, outgoing and informative. Kyle was my OT, he was enthusiastic and engaging about treatment/therapy. We set goals and a timeline and then exceeded them. Even though my sessions were challenging and at times difficult, he explained the exercises in away I felt confident to do them on my own too. I would absolutely recommend Kyle and the Adler team to everyone!
Kristin Edmonds in OT was wonderful!! I couldn't hardly use my wrist at all after I broke it and had surgery and I'm pretty much at 100% now! We bonded over cats and certain games, she's very easy to laugh with. 🙂
I saw Kyle coley as my therapist he was very Accommodating to me working with my right hand and told me what procedures we would do before we would do if it was gonna hurt or not hurt too bad he is He is very kind and fun and I would recommend him to anyone The experience was awesome, All the staff was very pleasant every single one of them I would recommend Adler therapy group to anybody if I have to come back I'll be more than glad I will still come visit them
My daughter has been seeing Danielle M. and we’ve seen such improvement. The front staff is super friendly and Danielle has been amazing. Super thankful for them!
We have been clients of Adler Therapy Group for just about 3yrs now and recommend them to everyone who asks. As a mom of two daughters with autism, finding therapists that care deeply about my girls’ development, who want to be an active part of our medical team, and love them for who they are was important. We have found that here! When we moved from Virginia Beach to Suffolk I was worried about the transition. I shouldn’t have been. Alder’s incredible staff welcomed us into their new office with open arms and made us feel at home.Hillary, Matt, and Laura- y’all are the dream team! My girls wouldn’t be where they are today without all of your dedication. Thank you
